IA MUSIC ALTERNATIVE SOUND · BEHIND THE SCENES
Inside the sound
A computer, a few instruments and plenty of experiments. Here I explain how I turn lyrics into music and images, which programs I use and how I develop the voices’ identities.
01 / THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
The words come first
The starting point is always my own ideas and lyrics, which I write personally. Then I choose a musical direction, try different structures, rhythms and interpretations, listen to what works and change what does not convince me. Technology opens up new possibilities, but it does not replace the reason a song exists.
02 / MY MUSIC WORKSPACE
From fingers to MIDI, through to production
INSTRUMENTS
Akai MPC Pad
The Akai pad mainly supports my experiments with electronic tracks: rhythms, ideas and sequences that I can try physically, rather than only imagine.
MUSIC SOFTWARE
MPC Beats + Hype
I work on MIDI sequences for electronic music in MPC Beats. I use various plugins, returning most often to Hype to explore electronic tones and sounds.
The old Sonor acoustic drum kit mentioned in the project’s story was one of my first ways into rhythm, the metronome and BPM.
03 / AUDIO AND VIDEO GENERATION
Giving ideas a form
GENERATIVE AUDIO
Suno
I use it to turn words into music, experiment with arrangements and interpretations, and compare different sonic possibilities before choosing a direction.
VIDEO EDITING
CapCut Pro
It is one of the tools I use to edit videos, shape the rhythm of the images, and organise sequences, cuts and visual details that accompany the tracks.
04 / THE PROJECT’S VOICES
Different voices, one personal direction
The male voice: I start with my own
In several Italian indie-pop tracks I use samples of my own voice. I update and refine them, experimenting with interpretations and timbres that come closer to what I have in mind. To be clear: samples of my own voice are the basis of the work, while the finished vocal performance uses generation and processing tools.
The female voices: an ongoing exploration
For female performances in Italian, English and French, I started with voices available within Suno. Through trials and experiments, I explored different tones and characters until I found interpretations suited to the songs. These are not external singers presented as real people, but voices generated and selected through a creative process.
A PAGE THAT WILL KEEP GROWING
The tools change. Curiosity stays.
This is a snapshot of the way I work today. Over time I will add new experiences, tools, experiments and real images of my creative space.
